Mixology Masters is a celebration and acknowledgment of a craft essential to the hospitality industry!
The term, Mixologist dates back to the 1800s, but in modern usage, it tends to signify the art and theater of expertly prepared cocktails.
A Mixologist is much like a well-trained chef, embracing a culinary approach to blending cocktails and possessing a deep understanding of the history behind spirits, liqueurs, and the flavours they blend with. They also have a rich appreciation for the ingredients and techniques used and regularly create new and innovative mixed drinks.
Furthermore, they stay abreast of trends and innovations occurring worldwide.
Mixology Masters is a non-scripted television series that captures the art and craft of cocktail making in a competition format that pits some of the best bartenders in the country against each other.
Each week, contestants demonstrate their skills through a series of unique challenges that test their technique, speed, ability to put a spin on classics, and the ability to create new and innovative mixed drinks.
Season one is 24 episodes of 22 min where contestants compete for the approval of our judges in five different categories: Taste, Balance, Presentation, Application of Theme, and Creativity.
The winning bartender receives the coveted title of “Mixology Master” and a $10,000 prize.
